Note from the DC MISS Facilitator:
The Fairfax County Government Center is no longer
available for meeting
space to non-profits free of charge. The cost of the meeting space will
prohibit the DC MISS chapter from holding future meetings at the
Fairfax County Government Center location. Unfortunately, we were not
made aware of this new policy until a few days ago due to an
administrative oversight.
The DC Miss Chapter Leadership Team is attempting to find a
suitable location for our monthly meetings. In the meantime, our
meeting on Wednesday, July 1 will be held at the Borders Cafe located
in the Borders Bookstore at: 11054 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22030. Tara
Pitts, our former facilitator will lead the meeting, as I will be out
of town. She has asked that members who will be in attendance make
every effort to arrive on time as there are limited chairs available in
the cafe. The meeting will begin promptly at 7:30 pm. For those of you
who don't know Tara, she will have a sign for MISS (and I promise you
will all be in excellent hands!).
If you plan to attend the meeting on Wednesday, please email Tara at
Tara@missfoundation.org to
let her know (although as always fine to
decide last minute as well :) )
Again, THANK YOU ALL for your patience and support!! I will be in touch
over the coming weeks to update you as to the progress made on finding
a more permanent meeting location.
For those not comfortable meeting at Borders this month, please don't
hesitate to email and we can set up a time to talk or meet privately
when I return from out of town. And as always, please be sure to
utilize the DC MISS message boards as part of the Yahoo groups.

1) Go to:

2) Log into your Yahoo Account (if you do not have an account,
it’s quick and easy
to create one, on the log in page, go to “Sign up”).
3) Click on “JOIN THIS GROUP”
4) When filling out the application, select to receive
individual emails if you’d
like to
be emailed new posts, and make sure they are going to an email
address that you
check often (you may need to add the email to your
profile, as it will use your given
Yahoo email address as the default).
Also make sure that you put in the
notes/comment section while applying
for the group, who you are (please give your
name, your child’s name and
city) so I know to approve your membership. This
board is only open to
the DC MISS Foundation parents.
To
CHANGE your current settings
or email address that you have set with Yahoo
Groups. Go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dcmissfoundation/ and click on “EDIT
MEMBERSHIP” which is at the top of the page.
